Kim is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA) and is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). She has undertaken tertiary studies at the University of Sydney, Charles Sturt University, and Central Queensland University. For over 5 years Kim has worked across both the public and private sectors, providing both assessment and therapy services in child and family mental health settings. Prior to her work in psychology, Kim worked in the occupational rehabilitation sector for 10 years.
Kim is a certified facilitator for the Circle of Security parenting program, Triple P parenting program, Cool Kids Anxiety Program and Tuning in to Kids parenting program. Kim is, therefore, able to incorporate attachment based, cognitive behavioural and emotion coaching therapeutic techniques. Kim has a extensive knowledge in sensory processing issues and enjoys early intervention work.
Kim applies a client-centred strength-based approach to assist children and families move towards their goals for positive mental health. Kim adopts evidence-based approaches using Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and Play Therapy to assist children and families manage a range of issues. She is committed to assisting families in becoming more connected, resilient and content.
